03 — Accessibility

Accessibility Statement

Last updated: March 2026

Nightingales Summit is committed to ensuring that our website and events are accessible to all participants, regardless of disability or impairment. We believe every nurse and healthcare professional deserves equal access to opportunities for growth.

Our Digital Accessibility Commitment

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Our ongoing efforts include:

  • Sufficient colour contrast ratios for all text and interactive elements
  • Keyboard-navigable interface — all features accessible without a mouse
  • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
  • ARIA labels and semantic HTML for screen reader compatibility
  • Responsive design that adapts to all screen sizes and zoom levels
  • No auto-playing media that cannot be paused or stopped

Physical Event Accessibility

For the in-person summit, we strive to provide:

  • Wheelchair-accessible venue entrances, seating, and restrooms
  • Reserved seating areas for participants with mobility needs
  • Sign language interpretation or live captioning upon advance request
  • A medical support team on-site throughout the event
  • Clear and inclusive signage throughout the venue

Virtual Accessibility

For virtual attendees, we aim to provide:

  • Live captions / subtitles on streamed sessions where technically feasible
  • Post-event recordings with subtitle support
  • Accessible registration and participation via assistive technologies

Feedback & Requests

We recognise that accessibility is a continuous journey. If you encounter any barrier or have a specific accommodation request, please contact us at nightingalesummit@gmail.com at least two weeks before the summit date. We will do our best to make reasonable adjustments.

Known Limitations

Some older third-party embeds (e.g. YouTube video player) may not fully meet accessibility standards. We are working to address these progressively in each edition.
